I both loath and lack the sufficient narcissism to write a good opinion essay.
My assignment was to write a simple opinion essay for ENG 112, arguing specifically for or against a topic that is decidedly unprovable. I chose to argue for the existence of time travel, since the other suggested topic were of less interest to me.
I ultimately wrote a paper which now can be interpreted as professing the non-existence of time travel, as well as allowing for the existence of (and even a slight titillation for) actual time travel to be realized.
I find the natural tendency for me to skirt but never commit to an opinion fascinating. With the lack of solid, factual evidence, I danced around the concept for 2 pages, only to conclude (with a relative cop-out) that time travel does exist and has always, so long as we redefine what "time travel" actually is.
I suppose a follow-up including the peer-reception and instructor grade is in order.
Look for part two [link will come]
